No specific keystroke timings
People with mobility impairments can find actions that require fine motor skills difficult, so it’s important that no specific timings are required for individual keystrokes.
This means that a user should never be required to:
- press one or more keys repeatedly within a short amount of time
- hold down a key for a longer time than normal.
Meeting the Web Accessibility Standard
When all functionality on a page can be operated via keyboard alone, and without requiring specific keystroke timings, this meets WCAG 2 Success Criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard (Level A).
